a preview of what’s to come

The floor of my home office, scattered with a hundred wedding invitations

I have another non-food project on deck this week: making my friend’s invitations for her New Year’s Eve wedding this year.  Actually, I’ve been plugging away at the 600-plus prints required (each one done by hand on my trusty Gocco screen printing machine) for a couple of weeks now, and the light is finally at the end of the tunnel.  This afternoon I finished the main invite card, and all 105 of them are scattered across the floors of our apartment, drying.  I would say I feel really proud of this project, and I am, but really, I’m even more relieved.  It was stressful enough planning our own wedding just over a year ago, but it’s even more so being responsible for a major part of someone else’s wedding.  Needless to say, my plan tonight is to make a nice, relaxing dinner for the hubby and me (jerk chicken I’ve been marinating, pineapple and black beans over rice) and doing some quality navel-gazing afterwards.

I’ll post more pictures once everything is finished; posting on The Gravy Train might be a little light until I’m finally finished.  Happy Monday, everyone!
