I AM SO FULL.
Full of food. Full of wine. Full of laughter and joy and all the things you feel when you’re at a food and wine festival in your home state.
I AM SO FULL.
Full of food. Full of wine. Full of laughter and joy and all the things you feel when you’re at a food and wine festival in your home state.
If you were following me on Instagram over the weekend, you already know that I spent my weekend as a media guest at the Charleston Wine and Food Festival (#chswff), an annual, five-day bonanza of over 100 parties, tastings, dinners and yes, even Chicken Sh** Bingo (which, even though invited, I did not go to because it was way past my old lady bedtime). In the interest of editing and sharing photos as quickly as humanly possible, I’m going to keep the writeups to a minimum and focus on what really matters: images of the glorious food and wine that I gobbled.
First up: Baked @ Bowen’s Island Restaurant, a salmon bake at a really special little casual joint near Folly Beach called Bowen’s Island Restaurant. Bowen’s Island is a sleepy little stretch of land with spectacular views and a laid back, casual vibe. In other words, it’s the perfect afternoon/early evening venue to sit back, order a couple of cold beers (or in my case, a chilly glass of rose) and let your fingers get greasy with fried seafood. Since I haven’t been to Bowen’s Island in years, I was excited to go back for all of the aforementioned reasons.
Um…yeah. If you can’t tell already, Bowen’s Island is a pretty special place.
Thanks to all the folks at Charleston Wine and Food Festival for inviting me to such a spectacular weekend, and stay tuned for more photos of the events I attended!
