Almost as soon as we arrived in KL, just about everyone mentioned Suzy's Corner, a mamak (hawker) stall not far from where we live that serves up all sorts of local delights. The hubby's boss was the first to introduce us to Suzy's, and we'd been in KL just long enough so that the homesickness and shock of moving hadn't quite worn off yet. Tucked in the corner of Suzy's is this little operation, called the Steak Hut, which is popular with locals and expats alike for their affordable, no-frills steaks.
Having lived in several foreign countries now, the hubby and I have learned that not all beef is created equal when you're overseas. It's hard to find steaks that taste even close to that of a good, grain-fed American slab o' beef. We were pretty excited when we discovered that Steak Hut's steaks aren't just decent; they're tasty. Several cuts are available, and while I'd usually go with a New York strip or ribeye in the US, my favorite here is the tenderloin, just because of the inherent beefiness of the cut.
