Last year, we celebrated the upcoming nuptials of my friend Tara, who lives in Dallas, with a weekend in Las Vegas. The weekend was so outrageously fun that Tara and I are still using “VEGAS!” as our sign-off in e-mails to each other (I mean, really, “sincerely” or “warm regards” just doesn’t hold the same zazzle now, does it?).
Of course, as a bridesmaid and a lover of paper goods, I insisted on designing the invitations. In the days before I owned a Gocco, I relied solely on my trusty Canon inkjet printer to produce these invites soliciting her fabulous girlfriends’ presence over July 4th weekend. Tara was planning on using silver as one of the colors in her wedding, so I did my best to incorporate it in her invite.
Here’s the invitation suite, all laid out:
Yeah, um…so, I really like designing invites for bachelorette parties. Does someone have to get married for me to get another chance to make pink, glittery invites? Or can I just make a pink invite for no particular reason? Is that weird?
