dinner postmortem

The Gravy Baby asks us every night whether we can go for a walk around the neighborhood.  These days, a lot of factors go into whether or not we actually can: whether Gravy Too needs to be fed, how long dinner has taken us, how long we have before bedtime, how frazzled the hubby and I are after a long day . . . and the list goes on.  More often than not, we find ourselves rushing the kids to bath and bed so that we can start all over again in the morning.

Tonight, the stars aligned, and not only did we finish dinner early (delicious slow cooker meatloaf, baby green lettuce salad with avocadoes, dried cranberries, walnuts and blueberries, and these amazing roasted potatoes), we found ourselves with just enough time to spare for a quick spin around the neighborhood in our stroller built for two.

The weather was perfect — breezy, sunny and calm.  I also tested out my new camera, which I’ve been lusting over for the past two years.

Yup, it was a good night.
