Disclaimer: I was provided with free samples of GoMacro in writing this post. All opinions expressed here are mine and mine alone. Thanks, GoMacro!

I’m excited today to announce a giveaway hosted by the makers of GoMacro, makers of a snack bars that support a natural, whole food lifestyle. GoMacro has nine flavors in total, and the bars vary but are generally some combination of gluten free, vegan and/or macrobiotic. GoMacro’s flavors are also a series of seriously tasty combinations. From Cherries & Berries (my personal favorite) to Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip, there variety ensures that there’s something that appeals to any palate.

I’m a serious snack enthusiast, and so when GoMacro sent me a sampler pack of their miniature versions of these bars, I was pretty pumped. I think about snacks pretty much all of the time, and so I methodically took to task trying each flavor and making notes of what I thought of each one. Some people do wine tastings; I’m just as happy to taste snacks all the livelong day.

First of all, I noticed that GoMacro’s packaging is attractive. It’s so attractive that the hubby wiggled behind me as I studied each flavor profile, taking second bites out of each one. “These aren’t just for ladies, are they?” he asked quizzically, studying the bohemian artwork. I don’t blame the guy. More than once he’s taken a hearty nibble out of one of my snack bars only to discover that they’re “geared for ladies.” Which, of course, begs the question for me as to why there are snack bars specifically tailor-made for the gentler sex. Are we so feeble as to need lady-made, daintier snacks? I think I might have to research this some more.

Thankfully, GoMacro isn’t marketing to the gender specific, so the hubby and I both went to town, sampling with gusto. Every bar had a pleasing, chewy density to it that made me feel like I was eating a substantial snack packed into a tiny package. I liked that. I also liked that each flavor was distinct. An early favorite of mine was the granola and coconut, with chewy bits of whole oats spiked with flakes of slightly crunchy coconut. Another clear winner was the peanut butter and chocolate chip, because really, how could you go wrong with a winning combination like that?

The absolute standout favorite of mine, though, was the Berries and Cherries. It was chock-full of dried berries, and the tartness of the cherries really made for a nice contrast with the granola-based bar. I got so caught up in its tasty wonder that I almost ate the entire bar before I realized that I hadn’t snapped a photo of it yet. In my book, that’s a good sign.

Luckily for you, today you have a chance to win a sampler pack of your own with TWO of each of the above flavors (a total of 18 bars) so that you can hold your own GoMacro snack-off at home!
