Clockwise, from top: Chicken satay, peanut sauce, pineapple chutney, fried chicken, fried rice, glutinous rice with peanut paste wrapped in banana leaves, glutinous rice with young coconut, samosa, and beef rendang
After we returned from our honeymoon, the hubby went back to the grind of his day job, and I went back to my other vacation, which sometimes involves touring sites around KL. One of my daytime activities last week was a visit to Seri Mananti Palace, a palace located more than an hour outside of KL. After the tour, the plan was to end with lunch at a local Malaysian woman’s house, and she was making traditional, end-of-Ramadan foods. I was beside myself with anticipation. The palace would be a nice stop along the way, too.
I don’t remember much about the palace, to be honest. It was nice, there was wood and gold everywhere, and I think I saw some royal things. But look at the plate of food this wonderful lady made us! The colors! The variety! The copious bounty!
