vegas sideshow projects

I have a few new projects in the hopper that I will be posting next week, but in the meantime, I’ll entertain you with some of the accoutrements that I made for Tara’s Las Vegas bachelorette party a year ago:

To answer your question, yes, those are poker chips with Tara’s face on them.  I found a really great photo of her (you know, no hairs doing anything crazy on her head, makeup is pretty, nice smile) and printed it onto labels, then craft-punched the labels out and stuck them on pink poker chips.  For the other goodies, I used faux fur pink trim along with some bling-y gemstones and a hot glue gun to dress up koozies and water bottles that were available from the Cynthia Rowley for Target line that summer.  I also made a “Bachelorette Survival Kit,” which is pictured in more detail, below:

To make the map of Vegas with important locations for our ladies to conquer, I took a map from the fine folks who run Las Vegas, then used my trusty computer to readjust the colors in shades of pink and gray. I then printed the maps and attached them to little baggies filled with Advil and Band-Aids.  A girl really can never been too prepared, especially when in Vegas.

The card above was the card I tied to the front of the poker chips lovingly decorated with Tara’s face and that echoed the original invitation every fabulous lady received.  And as for continuing to use all that pink, well, I guess I figured it was the only color that could wash away the sin we witnessed that weekend.
