and gravy makes three

6a011570d70884970b0133ee687abd970b-2 This is not our baby and I’m not sure where to get a costume like that, but I have four more months to work on both

One glaring omission from this blog over the last few months is a new development we’re most excited about — the arrival of our baby boy, due September of this year!  As the days get closer to the arrival of what I’m hoping will be a third over-eager, rambunctious eater to our crew, the hubby and I are becoming more and more giddy.

We plan on having the baby here in Kuala Lumpur.  We love living here and can’t think of a better place to bring our new addition into the world, even though we are halfway around the world from our friends and family.  The medical facilities here are top-notch, and yes, the baby will be an American citizen, just like John McCain (but hopefully, without as much drama as Barack Obama).

Some family and friends have asked me what will happen to this blog.  Hopefully it will remain the story of a (temporary) international lady of leisure, food, and travel, but I know that our baby will become my obsession, too.  To that end, the hubby and I have decided to share pictures and explode all things baby separate from The Gravy Train.  Don’t worry, Grandma and Grandpa (and overexcited aunts) — we’ll be contacting you soon with the exact technological details.

In the meantime, I’m looking forward to sharing the occasional bit about our new family whenever it crosses over into our food and travel adventures.  Be prepared, though, for posts like, “Day 23 of Not Leaving the House: What’s Growing in Our Kitchen Pantry” and “The Time I Wore the Same Sweatpants for an Entire Week.”  It’ll be riveting stuff, I promise.
