The handicrafts and arts markets in Ubud, Bali are mind-blowingly amazing. Everywhere you turn, there’s another small shop or stall chock full of antiques, batik (hand-painted fabric), rattan basketweaving, painting and woodcarving. This particular art gallery was tucked off the main street in town, and we stumbled upon it accidentally while searching for kare ayam (chicken curry so delicious that it merits its own, separate post and is also smother-on-your-face-worthy). I loved the variety of styles and bold colors in the artwork, and even better was the traditional Balinese structure housing the collection.
