things i’ve missed about america

usgac1
Dad’s cooking.  Especially these clams (manila, to be exact) in his spicy basil sauce.

usgac2
Pizza.  Even better with amazing cured meat from Salumi, the famous Seattle deli belonging to Mario Batali’s family.

usgac3
Fall.  Nothing beats the crisp air, vibrant colors, and warm clothes to bundle yourself into.

(Yes, sometimes I think about things other than food.)

Courtneysays:

Looks like heaven, Ann! Especially the leaves…and that takes A LOT to deter me from food photos. Missing you in KL and we’re thankful for the energy and zest you bring to the city. Happy Thanksgiving.

Angelsays:

i approve of everything in this post except for Mario Batali, who ironically poisoned me with clam pizza (picture 1 + picture 2). i still have not forgiven him and still shake my carnie fists of fury at him.

biscuitwheelssays:

Woch_Man: missing you, too!

Courtney: Aww, thanks! I miss you guys, too — and I’m thankful that you guys are willing to indulge my fantasies of test-frying a turkey!

Angel: I swear, your luck sometimes…
