Challah french bread toast with fresh strawberries and cinnamon made coming home that much sweeter
After Beijing, we stopped over in Hong Kong again for a night before heading onwards to San Francisco, where we spent less than 24 hours on a whirlwind visit with friends. The details are sketchy mainly because I was beyond tired, but we did manage to squeeze in a brunch at Olea, a little neighborhood restaurant loaded with what I imagine to be typical San Francisco charm.

Olea serves Blue Bottle Coffee, which we’d experienced on our trip through San Francisco last August. It’s some of the best coffee I’ve ever had, and having a beautifully prepared latte right after a 12-hour flight was a great way to start our visit home. (Of course, the great company was a big part of that happy welcome home, too!)

So happy to host your pit stop! I felt a little like the gatekeeper to the US.
Sounds like your ‘halfway’ around the world trip is going wonderfully!! And now you’re finally back in the U.S!! 😉 Enjoy!!
Merp: thanks for literally letting us pit stop at your home! Next time we’ll make it longer, promise.
Rachael: yup, we’re having a good time here at home!
