The service at Kajane is outstanding.  Every morning, a full breakfast — we had our choice of one of seven menus (American, Indonesian, English, Japanese A or B, Daily or Continental) — was served to us at our villa.  Every menu included some sort of tropical fresh fruit juice.  A driver was available at our disposal to ferry us to and from any location in Ubud of our choice.  In the afternoons, we had tea along with traditional Balinese cakes (which, by the way, I thought were delicious because they incorporated coconut, and I love coconut in just about anything).  And, God bless, there was free wireless internet, and you know how much I love me some internet.

By the end of our stay at Kajane, I wanted to stay there forever.  I’d even picked out a corner of the room to hide in, under a rattan basket.  That’s reasonable, right?  To live in a corner of a hotel room, undetected by hotel staff?  I mean, it’s not like I’m working or anything right now, and the hubby could totally visit me.  In Bali.

Rooms start at $135/night, inclusive of taxes, fees, and all the services mentioned above, for their “standard” room (which basically means sharing a pool with three other rooms) or $245/night for a villa with a private plunge pool.

Thank God you all are safe. I was terrified when I heard there was a Tsunami near where you are. Thank God for Twitter too. The honeymoon sounds fabulous. I’m so glad you guys got to visit such awesome sites. However, there seem to be way too many monkeys over there. Are they sacred or something???? I love the picture of yours and Gerry’s feet…beautiful.

Hi Denise! Yes, we’re fine. I think monkeys are native to this part of the region, sort of like pigeons are to ours. There’s a monkey hill not too far from our house, too — isn’t that crazy? Glad you liked the photo!
